The Wharf

Set amongst the trees on the Ligar Bay Estuary, this absolutely stunning family bach is just the place to sit back & relax with whanau & friends, or if the energy levels are up, head out into the Estuary in the kayaks or wander along to the beautiful golden beaches of Ligar Bay or Tata. Designed by Alan Morse, Architect, and completed in early 2020 by Frank Byrne Builders, the interior consists of one main kitchen/living/bedroom area with the bathroom & the storage rooms both situated off this. With a Sicilian roof ceiling, and lots of wide, tall windows, the light just pours in to give that easy beachy feel, surrounded by native trees for summer shade and privacy.

The owners were pleased with how the team worked around the existing vegetation and building within a tight footprint. The scaffolding weaved in and out of the branches of trees that they wanted to retain for privacy and what was loved about the section. The exterior is clad in cedar, with a large, solid deck at the front, which gives the impression of being on a wharf, virtually a just step out into the Ligar Bay Estuary and adds to the overall sqm to provide further space for entertaining & relaxing.

The perfect wee spot with a perfect wee bach – where BIG memories will be made.
